4 days, 500 km (315 mi.), 8,556 m (28,070 ft.) of climbing, freezing temperatures, rain, 50 mph gusts and some of the most challenging and beautiful riding I have ever done. This year I spent Christmas at my friend Matt’s house in Yorkshire. Between Christmas Eve and my departure flight on the 29th, we made it our mission to complete the Rapha Festive 500, a challenge to ride 500 km between Christmas Eve and New Years. Sometimes miserable and often amazing, it was Type 2 fun at its finest.
